The longer I am in the Sales Game, the more I appreciate that I must be consistent in what I do to create my success. I also appreciate that I need to stop the consistency that does not support my success!

It is the simple things many times that maintain that success. Getting up at the same time each day. Answering your phone every time it rings, while you are available. (when you are not with customers, in a meeting or working on specific sales activities) Following up in the time you said you would.

I have a client who whenever I do work with his sales team, have lunch with him or go to a social event – he sends me a hand written Thank You note. It is a great “touch” and he never misses doing this.

Consistency builds trust with your prospects and clients. That trust builds on the relationship you have and creates a bond that most sales people only dream of.

The Oxford dictionary defines “consistency” as thus: The quality of achieving a level of performance which does not vary greatly in quality over time. That “quality” will help you to continually, year after year, to create the success you deserve.

The reason I go to certain restaurants regularly is because of the consistent level of service and knowing exactly what I will get. The reason I go to the Apple Store is because I get treated the same way every time, and if there is an issue, I get a positive result. The reason I have long time customers is the consistent quality of delivery they receive.

What are you doing consistently that supports your success? Keep doing it and see if there is anything else you need to be doing and add that to your routine.
