The Sales Game can be one of the toughest occupations to be in if you are not resilient. “Stuff” happens almost every day. The question always is – How will you react and manage the “stuff”. The sales game is an emotional roller coaster. It can careen you around on a minute by minute basis and if you let it – it can beat you up every day.

My best friend a very successful lawyer. His attitude is that there is always a solution to every problem of challenge he runs into. And he literally runs into challenges all the time knowing that there is a solution. He still gets frustrated, he still gets angry – however – he is successful because he finds a solution for everything he does – including walking away from a deal!!

My wife Joy is an unbelievable networker. When she runs into a challenge she is able to call others and gain their support or insight for getting things accomplished. Her attitude is that with a team I can solve every challenge I come across. She still gets frustrated, she still gets angry – however – she is successful because she finds solutions for the majority of the deals she works on – and to a level most sales people only dream about.

I had a client last year. He had a focus like no one I had ever met. Once he knows what needs to be done he will not waiver one second on completing the task at hand. This focus has made him a master negotiator, a very strategic thinker and a process engineer. He still gets frustrated, he still gets angry – however – he is successful because he knows exactly what needs to be done and he gets it done.

To be resilient you need to “know” that there is always a solution to each challenge you come across. You need to “understand” that using your network and working as a team you will create the solutions that will make you very successful. And, you need to “believe” in what you are doing and not waiver from what needs to be done to win a deal.

So get into your day and KNOW what your solution is, UNDERSTAND the team that will help you get your solution executed and BELIEVE in that solution and never waiver from getting the deal done!!
